Academy of Certified Counsellors
Psychological Assessment and Diagnostic Services

The Academy of Certified Counsellors offers psychological testing to assess the psychological needs of children and adults.

In the realm where problems are highly personal and emotional, parents and helpers do not have room for wild guesses and biased opinions. Psychological testing provides an objective and consistent measure of an individual’s state or trait. These measures serve an important role in self-awareness, placement, planning and decision-making.

  • Autism

Autism is a pervasive developmental disorder diagnosed among children who exhibit severe social and communicational dysfunctions and repetitive behaviours. Upon reaching the age of 2, children can readily be assessed as being autistic or not. The role of assessment is to aid the parents in confirming and accepting the child’s condition so they can seek appropriate professional attention for their child.

In The Academy of Certified Counsellors, our psychologists are here to be with the parents throughout the sensitive process of having their child diagnosed. We seek to have the parents informed about their child’s condition and to counsel them in planning and preparing for the child’s future.

Assessment involves a total of 4 hours which involves the following:
