asked questions regarding undertaking the Specialist Diploma in Counselling
Psychology offered by the ACC School of Counselling and Psychology, the training division of Academy of Certified Counsellors, and

Does your Academy offer courses
for the complete beginner with no previous experience in counselling
?
Yes we do. We offer the Specialist Diploma in Counselling Psychology, a
9-month or 4.5-month course with a good foundation in counselling theory and
practice from which you can continue your training either with
ourselves or others.
Who are the teaching staff at your
Academy ?
Our teaching staff comprise of qualified and experienced practitioners
with qualifications in psychology, counselling and social work.
How big is the class size ?
Our Academy will have small class sizes to allow for individual
attention and to facilitate a nurturing and conducive teaching
and learning environment.
What is the mode of teaching and
learning at your Academy ?
The Academy emphasizes training in counselling skills in its courses.
The Academy also focuses on developing counsellor awareness where
students are given opportunities to reflect and learn from their
training experiences.
The courses at our Academy will be delivered through lectures,
group discussions, practical demonstrations, video presentations,
practical and experiential exercises, case studies, case-plays
and role-plays.
Students undertaking courses having a practicum component will
be provided with supervised counselling.
Can I continue my training with
you after obtaining the diploma to obtain a degree level course
in counselling ?
Yes you can. You can enter into the program as a complete beginner,
and continue training with us to obtain a degree course in counselling.
